Are you interested in a move to New Zealand?
NZ Skills in Demand is a NZ and UK based company. They help set up job interviews for people like you and help you through the process of getting out to New Zealand.
They work with all trades but are finding that there is huge demand for Electricians.
There have been some challenging regulations which make it difficult to place an overseas worker into a role where they require supervision to work on the Limited Certificate.
At this point in time the only candidates NZ Skills In Demand are able to help are those who have managed to complete their full registration in New Zealand OR those who are looking to come to the United Kingdom to complete full registration course in London (details can be seen here - http://gbconstructiontraining.com/ and the course costs £1500.)
If you can make the UK course option work, please let Rachel Beattie at NZ Skills in Demand know as they are able to line up interviews with employers who will make you a job offer (subject to a successful interview) which is conditional upon you passing your UK coursework. This gives people the confidence to then commit the time and money to passing the course, knowing they have a job guaranteed at the end of it.
If the course is not realistic, in the meantime they suggest (if you haven’t already) you complete the first step in the process of gaining NZ registration, which is having your skills and experience assessed by the EWRB. You can start that process by reading information here - and starting the application process here. This process must be done even if you are doing the course in London. You will need to deal directly with the EWRB in New Zealand for this process.
If you are heading out to New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa then they are able to help with your job search as well. The above course would be completely optional for you.
Please get in touch with Rachel if you are keen to make the move to New Zealand in 2018.
