The role involves setting up concrete forms, using rebar and wire mesh reinforcement, and trowel skills to place, spread and compact the finish concrete.

Our partners New Zealand Skills in Demand are seeking qualified Carpenters for full-time permanent roles in Dunedin, Wellington and Hamilton. They offer a free service to place candidates in NZ roles. 

You will be involved in residential, commercial and infrastructure projects (depending on experience).

Ideal candidates will have a wide range of experience on both commercial and residential sites, including 1st and 2nd fix and high-ending finishing and have at least 3 years full-time experience.

Permanent full time contracts are on offer. You will be "on the books" as opposed to working self-employed meaning you will enjoy 4 weeks paid annual leave, and your employer pays a levy to cover health insurance and contributes to your retirement savings scheme. 

Starting rate for qualified carpenters in New Zealand is $23 - 28 NZD per hour (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).

Carpenter & Joiner positions in New Zealand

 New Zealand Skills in Demand are actively recruiting skilled Carpenters and Joiners to join the recovery effort in Christchurch, New Zealand. Roles are also available in other main cities.

On offer is full time, permanent contracts to successful candidates. This will allow you to apply for a Residency Visa in New Zealand (this will be clarified for you by a licensed immigration advisor), if you so desire. Otherwise, you may apply for a Work Visa.

Those who are under 31 with no dependents can apply for a Working Holiday Visa.

Ideally candidates will have 2 – 3 years of experience, with a relevant qualification preferred.
